As part of a contentious residential project proposal encroaching into a designated industrial use zone, Pace undertook a detailed environmental noise and vibration study on the site at multiple locations.
The report discussed the implications for residential accommodation on the site and referred to the provisions of PPG24: 1994 'Planning and Noise', BS8233: 1999 'Sound insulation and noise reduction for buildings', W.H.O: 1999 'Guidelines for Community noise' and BS6472: 1992 'Guide to evaluation of human exposure to vibration in buildings (1 Hz to 80 Hz)'. By providing a detailed assessment report against an extremely tight deadline, Pace helped ensure that permission was granted for the development of the site.
